Member Directory 2.0

Social networking web sites have become an important means of communicating, collaborating, and staying in touch with friends and colleagues. Members of social networking sites are encouraged to build contact lists and share access to networks with one another. With features like Mutual Friends, My Connections, and Introductions, members of these sites can build an extensive collection of contacts in short order.

Fortunately, nonprofits and associations have presented this key opportunity to members for years. Historically, relationships amongst members was established and maintained through business and social events, chapter, committee, and volunteer leadership meetings, etc. The end result was a built in network of people with mutual interests.

Better Results

Higher Logic’s Directory 2.0 module provides member based organizations an innovative way to maintain essential offline relationships. By incorporating the ideal aspects of the social working web, Directory 2.0 moves the offline relationships online and presents meaningful results by focusing and securing connections within the organization’s membership. Essentially, Directory 2.0 allows members to maintain existing relationships through easy to use on-line tools, as well as encouraging members to form new relationships with peers, colleagues, and people with shared interests.

Demographics Included

Harnessing the latest in mapping and social networking technology, the next generation of member directory software uses Microsoft Virtual Earth to display detailed maps and enhanced demographics. Member Directory 2.0 overlays the physical location of not only members and colleagues, but also chapters, events, and other location based objects on a map of matches “Near Me”. Powerful search features allow members to find information using several different search criteria. Result sets are displayed on a map including a summary presentation.
