Full Transcript:

Ehlo!

Did you know that mail servers are actually bilingual? Sometimes they’ll say “Hello!” and other times they’ll say “Ehlo!”

Well, in that fashion, welcome to Deliverability Manners with Amanda!

Oh, don’t forget the pinkies up!

Today’s episode is kind of a Dear John Letter, in that it’s time to break up with the word “Dear.”

Tools like spam assassin will tell you that the word “dear” isn’t so dear. People rarely greet others with the word “dear,” so that makes it a red flag for spam filters when they see this. So next time you’re writing an email, my dears…just say “Hi!”

That’s all for today – join us next week for another episode of Deliverability Manners with Amanda. Something you want to see covered? Let me know in the comments below – but be sure to type with your pinkies up!
