Higher Logic Unveils 2024 Association Community Benchmark Report

Report Delivers Key Insights for Driving Online Engagement in the Digital Era

Arlington, VA – September 3, 2024 – Higher Logic, a leading provider of engagement platforms for associations and nonprofits, is excited to announce the release of its 2024 Association Community Benchmark Report. This annual report offers crucial insights into the performance of online communities across nearly 1,500 associations and nonprofits in the United States, Canada, and the Asia-Pacific region. The findings provide association leaders with valuable data to benchmark their community engagement and refine their strategies in an increasingly digital landscape.

As organizations adapt to the realities of remote work and global connectivity, online communities have become essential in keeping members engaged and industries connected. Higher Logic’s 2024 report highlights key trends and offers data-driven insights to help associations optimize their community strategies.

Key Findings:

User Engagement: On average, 15% of community users are subscribed to at least one community and engage at least once within a 120-day period.

Email Engagement: Community digest emails continue to perform extremely well, with open rates of 43% for the Daily Digest and 59% for the Daily and Weekly Consolidated Digests—well above the industry average of 38% from our Association Email Benchmark Report.

Activity Levels: Each month, communities see an average of 506 unique logins, with 14% of these users actively contributing to discussions.

Discussion Activity: Communities experience an average of 162 discussion activities per month, with peak activity in March and September.

Holistic Community Strategies: Organizations that integrate additional initiatives—such as mentoring, volunteering, job boards, and personalized experiences—within their communities see significantly higher engagement, with increases ranging from 49% to 250% in various metrics.

The report also highlights the performance of customers using Higher Logic Thrive Communities, who experience up to 88% more discussion activity and 77% more unique contributors than those using Higher Logic Community (Original product).
